Constructed
in 1870, the Burgess Building was designed by architect George
Waterman Cady in the post-Civil War period of Providence’s
central business district expansion. It is now the oldest surviving
building on Westminster Street. The O’Gorman Building,
constructed in 1925, features an elaborately detailed white
terracotta façade beautifully detailed with a peacock.
The two buildings are located at 220 - 232 Westminster Street,
respectively.
FLOOR
LAYOUT, UNIT SIZES AND PRICING
Each
of the 13 LOFTS that make up these two buildings is
unique. Within the Burgess Building there are some smaller,
studio style LOFTS, all approximately 800 square feet. Burgess
also features two Penthouse LOFTS, which are over 2,200 square
feet, have 2 bathrooms, a mezzanine level and skylights. The
five LOFTS in the OGorman Building are all similar in size
at approximately 2,400 square feet and feature a semi-traditional
2-bedroom layout with 2 1/2 baths as well as new environmentally
friendly bamboo wood flooring. Rents for the smaller LOFTS in
Burgess are approximately $1,000 per month. The range for the
larger LOFTS in both Burgess and OGorman start at $1,900.
PARKING OPTIONS '
The Peerless Building houses underground parking with sixty-seven spaces. Also, there is parking available at Grant's Block.
